Our Unique Process

A walk through a De Novo home is a walk through well-designed space. That's because our process of design is highly unique.

Our mantra is to "go beyond the decorated diagram™."

This means that our starting point is different from the one-dimensional thought you'd find from a non-Architect. There, they start with square footage, then extrude the walls up and decorate the space.

Our starting point is the space itself. We think and see three-dimensionally. We ask and answer questions such as: What will make this space most comfortable? How can we best get this room to flow with its adjoining spaces? Which Architectural details will stimulate the eye and fulfill the purpose of this space? Which old or new Architectural details do we need to be sure the design intent is realized throughout the home?

We first put soul into each space. Then we puzzle together each space to make it flow, in harmony, like music.
